Two-time Oscar winner Jane Fonda has been cast in the role of a former first lady in the upcoming film "The Butler," reports Moviefone.com. Fonda will play Nancy Reagan.
Citing a report by Variety, the story says Lee Daniels will direct the film about a White House butler, Eugene Allen, covering the 34 years he spent working for the presidents and their families.
Oscar winner Forrest Whitaker is in talks to play Allen, with TV superstar Oprah Winfrey a possible choice as his wife. Other names are also in discussion, including Liam Neeson — to play President Lyndon Johnson — and John Cusack as Richard Nixon.
Fonda is currently filming a recurring role HBO’s new drama series "The Newsroom."
What an injustice to Mrs Reagan and to President Reagan. JF gave comfort to our enemies who were trying to kill our guys in Viet Nam. This is disgusting.
