NBC’s hit singing competition "The Voice" will have a higher profile on the network starting next month, when the show expands to two nights, reports B&C.

The show will add one-hour live elimination rounds starting Tuesday, April 3, with the network’s weight-loss competition "The Biggest Loser" shedding an hour to make space for the additional show, the story adds. “The Voice” will continue to air as a Monday-Tuesday show.

By adding another hour to "The Voice," the program is joining the ranks of other reality competitions such as "American Idol" and "Dancing with the Stars," which air in a two-night-per-week format, the piece points out.

The show has averaged 19.3 million total viewers in its second season, and its most recent episode improved 15% in the ratings, the story adds.

NBC will roll out its newest reality show, “Fashion Star,” as planned March 13, airing it on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. “America’s Got Talent,” which aired on Tuesdays and Wednesdays last summer, will move to a Monday-Tuesday format this year, bowing May 14 and 15 with two-hour episodes both nights. It will downsize to an hour a night starting week two.
