Nickelodeon Unveils Greatly Expanded Slate of New Programming

Mar 15, 2012  •  Post A Comment

Nickelodeon unveiled at its upfront presentation a greatly explanded slate of new programming — 650 hours, more than twice what it presented at last year’s event, Advertising Age reports.

The cable network has been hit with a ratings decline and has been criticized for letting its lineup grow stale, the story notes. The ambitious new lineup includes projects centered on the British pop group One Direction and “X Factor” contestant Rachel Crow.

Nickelodeon lost its lead last year to Disney Channel in viewers 6-11 and fell into a tie with Disney Channel in viewers 2-11 in February, the story reports.
