A star of "The Office" and a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" have joined Mindy Kaling’s Fox comedy pilot in guest roles, reports EW.com’s InsideTV blog.
Ed Helms of “The Office” is joining as a potential love interest, playing a Wall Street analyst who goes on a blind date with Mira, Kaling’s character, the story notes. Mira is a OB/GYN described as similar to Bridget Jones, the piece adds.
“SNL’s” Bill Hader will play Kaling’s ex-boyfriend, a boy-next-door type whom Mira views as an "an early ‘80s Tom Hanks," according to the story.
"West Wing" veteran Richard Schiff will play another OB/GYN who reminisces about the 1960s and 1970s and is terrible with technology, the piece adds.
Kaling might leave "The Office" if the show gets a greenlight to series, the story points out.
