An unscripted version of "Modern Family" is in the works, with the casting team behind "Jersey Shore’ looking for a real-life Dunphy-Pritchett family, reports the New York Post.

The show is called "My Modern Family" and is seeking "multi-generational families with real people who are stars in their own right and just don’t know it yet," according to casting director Doron Ofir.

A major cable network is developing the series, but Ofir declined to disclose which one.

Referring to the groundbreaking 1973 documentary series "An American Family," Ofir noted, "“This is no different from ‘American Family’ except that was based on drama, and this is based on comedy.”
