A cable drama series has been canceled after three seasons, reports Deadline.com. Pulling the plug on the teen-focused “Make It or Break It,” ABC Family announced Thursday that the current eight-episode season will be the show’s last.

"The writing has pretty much been on the wall for the gymnastics drama, which first faced cancellation last summer," the story notes. The network renewed the series for eight episodes last fall, however, in order to take advantage of what ABC Family president Michael Riley called "Olympic fever," the story says.

The third season follows several elite female teen gymnasts as they try to make it to the Olympics, with its May 14 finale revealing who has made the cut for the U.S. team, the story says.
