Character Actor Known for Roles on ‘Quincy’ and ‘Odd Couple’ Dies at 90

A character actor known for his television roles on "Quincy, M.E." and "The Odd Couple" has died, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Garry Walberg was 90.

On "Quincy," Walberg played Lt. Frank Monahan, a character who often butted heads with Jack Klugman’s medical examiner, the story says. "Quincy" ran from 1976-1983 on NBC.

Walberg also portrayed Speed, one of the regulars in the Friday night poker game hosted by Klugman’s character Oscar Madison, in "The Odd Couple," the piece notes. The show ran from 1970-1974 on ABC.

Walberg was a regular in John Cassavetes’ 1959-1960 crime show "Johnny Staccato," and appeared in scores of other shows including "Gunsmoke," "The Waltons" and "Lassie," the story notes.

He died of chronic pulmonary obstructive disease and congestive heart failure, according to the article.
