The former star of "Little House on the Prairie" was rushed to the hospital before the end of Monday’s live broadcast of "Dancing with the Stars" after she hit her head while performing, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s the Live Feed blog.

Melissa Gilbert’s dance had been what the judges called her best performance yet, although she hit her head on the ballroom floor in the middle of the Paso Doble, which she performed with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the story says.

After the performance, which earned the pair a cumulative score of 22, Gilbert started complaining of dizziness and feeling lightheaded, with singer Gavin DeGraw carrying her out of the studio, the article notes.

The 47-year-old actress was put on a stretcher with about 20 minutes left in the episode and taken to a hospital by ambulance, with her dance partner following her.

While host Tom Bergeron acknowledged Gilbert’s accident toward the end of the live show, ABC didn’t provide many details, according to the article. The network said a full update will be given on tonight’s episode.
