NBC has drafted "Law & Order" creator Dick Wolf and reality producer Mark Burnett to create an unscripted competition show that will benefit the military, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s The Live Feed blog.

Called "Stars Earn Stripes," the show will pit celebrities against each other as they compete in challenges performed by special forces such as Navy SEALs and Green Berets, the piece says.

The project is a departure for Wolf, who is known for his scripted programs, as NBC appears to be looking toward the "Law & Order" veteran to help revive its ratings, the story points out.

Nine celebrities from film, music and sports will train at a secret military facility, preparing for a weekly challenge.

"I think this is a unique opportunity to pay tribute to our troops and first responders who put their lives on the line every day," Wolf said, according to the story.

The stars will compete for cash prizes, with the money going to a military charity that they’ll pick, the piece adds.
