New Series Is the Lowest-Rated Broadcast Drama Premiere of All Time EW

A new broadcast drama series made history this week with its premiere -- and not a good kind of history. EW.com’s Inside TV reports that the CW’s new series “The L.A. Complex” set a new mark for the lowest-rated in-season broadcast drama premiere of all time.

That result is based on data from network research analysts, and tracks back to when the current ratings measurement system was put in place, the story reports.

The show is a soapy Canadian drama series about an aspiring actress who moves to Los Angeles with the hope of making it big. The series stars Chelan Simmons, Jonathan Patrick Moore, Cassie Steele and Joe Dinicol.

The show debuted Tuesday night to only 646,000 total viewers, according to Nielsen overnights, with a scant 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic, the piece adds.
