Robert Redford to Host Sundance Channel Series, Provide Critiques

Sundance Channel’s creative director, film legend Robert Redford, will appear on the channel as the presenter of a series of acclaimed independent films, Deadline.com reports.

The channel announced plans for the series in a press release today, stating: “Airing every Saturday night beginning April 28th, Redford will introduce each film and offer a personal critique. Some of the films being screened include: ‘The Crucible,’ ‘Wendy & Lucy,’ ‘Blue Velvet,’ ‘The Deep End’ and ‘The Imperialists Are Still Alive.’”

In the statement, Redford said: “Our aim with Sundance Channel has always been to showcase independent productions that broaden viewers’ minds and hopefully inspire them. I am pleased to share some great films and further strengthen the outstanding independent film offering on our channel.”

The series, dubbed “Robert Redford Presents,” is set to launch Saturday, April 28, at 10 p.m. with Oscar nominee “The Crucible.”
