A veteran of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” who went on to a successful film career will return to the show as guest host, Deadline.com reports.

Will Ferrell, who was a regular on the sketch show from 1995-2002, will host the May 12 show. The episode is part of a run of three original episodes to close out the season. Also on tap is a guest-hosting appearance May 5 by New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, with Rihanna appearing as the musical guest on that show.

The musical guest for the Will Ferrell installment will be Usher.

Ferrell has made an impact on the big screen since leaving “SNL,” starring in a string of movies including “Old School,” “Anchorman,” “Elf” and “Talladega Nights.”

During his “SNL” years Ferrell was known for his impersonations, notably George W. Bush.
