With rumors swirling that a number of “Saturday Night Live” cast members are ready to leave the sketch show at the end of this season, one of the other regulars has chimed in on the subject.

“I would say it’s time,” said “SNL” regular Fred Armisen, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Armisen was commenting on the possibility that Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis will leave the show.

“I would feel sad — I love them; they’re my family,” Armisen told THR. But he added: “I’d be happy for them because they’re doing what they want to do.”

All three “SNL” veterans have been moving into feature films, with Wiig making a particular impact with “Bridesmaids,” the story notes.

Armisen added that he has not heard anything definite about any departures.

Wiig talked recently about the possibility of leaving “SNL,” saying, “Everyone has to leave,” as previously reported. She added: "I will say that when I do leave it’s not because I’m sick of it and not because I see something better or anything like that. It’s just that it’s time. When I do leave, it will be the hardest thing.”

Asked about her prospects beyond "SNL," Wiig said: "I don’t know. I may go back to open up a canoe shop."
