With a number of broadcast networks opting to get an early start on the fall season, CW has decided to break free of the pack by rolling out its lineup later in the year, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The announcement follows news that both Fox and NBC will get their fall seasons started early, as previously reported. In NBC’s case the strategy appears designed to capitalize on momentum from the network’s Summer Olympics coverage.
CW’s shows will debut in October, THR reports, including returning hits “Vampire Diaries” and “Supernatural.” Newcomers “Arrow” and “Emily Owens, M.D.” are also set for October premieres.
