HBO’s “Game of Thrones” set a series high for its season-two finale, which aired Sunday night, Deadline.com reports. The telecast drew 4.2 million viewers — up a whopping 38% from the first-season finale.
Another 910,000 viewers turned up for the later replay, creating a total audience of 5.1 million for the show on Sunday night.
With DVR viewing and on-demand play added to the totals for the linear channel, the show has averaged 10.4 million viewers per episode during season two.
HBO’s new Sunday comedies also appeared to benefit, with “Veep” notching its second-most-watched episode (1.2 million viewers for the 10:10 p.m. telecast) while “Girls” set a series record with 1.1 million viewers at 10:40 p.m.
