CBS Confirms It’s Bringing Back Canceled Series

CBS is bringing back a series that was previously canceled by the network, Deadline.com reports. The network confirmed that a deal has been reached for the return of “Unforgettable.”

We reported last month that CBS was in talks with Sony Pictures TV to try to resurrect the show. Those talks paid dividends, with CBS placing a 13-episode order for a new season of the show.

The series is scheduled to return in summer 2013.

The Poppy Montgomery-Dylan Walsh crime procedural about a woman who has a flawless memory was canceled back in May — the most-watched show of the season to get the ax.

Prior to coming to terns with CBS to revive the series, the studio had been shopping it to TNT and Lifetime, among other networks.

The story notes: “’Unforgettable’ will mark the highest-profile summer original scripted series to air on CBS in a long time. The network, which sticks mostly to unscripted fare and scripted reruns in the off-season, recently had some success with another crime procedural, Canadian import ‘Flashpoint,’ which started [on] the network in the summer.”
