Discovery Channel is rolling out an unscripted series from the producer of “Deadliest Catch,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. The survival-oriented series to be exec produced by “Catch’s” David Pritikin is “One Car Too Far.”

“The five-part unscripted series will revolve around former British Special Forces soldier Gary Humphrey and Southern California-based car fanatic/problem solver Bill Wu as they attempt to survive — and escape — remote locations in Chile using only their skills and a car,” the story reports.

With a four-wheel-drive vehicle being flown into locations that have never been traversed by car, “the duo will navigate Chile’s seven major climatic subtypes, including desert, alpine tundra, humid subtropical, oceanic and Mediterranean over the course of three days using survival techniques and mechanical tricks. The guys will be given a tracker to find the car and with no real supplies, be tasked with creating hunting weapons and repairing the vehicle — including using only an egg to seal a crack in the radiator. Each episode will end with a do-or-die stunt,” the report adds.

The series is set for an Aug. 9 premiere at 9 p.m.
