A controversial NFL player who has a knack for making headlines has announced that he’s changing his name and going back to his original name, CBS Sports reports.

Wide receiver Chad Ochocinco wants to be known from now on as Chad Johnson — the name he went by before he changed his last named to Ochocinco, the story reports.

Using his own media outlet, the Ochocinco News Network, Johnson said, "Chad Ochocinco has officially changed his name back to Chad Johnson. The main reason behind the name change was due to his marriage to Evelyn Lozada. The couple preferred Evelyn’s last name to be a real name and not the fun ‘Ochocinco’ character we have come to love."

Johnson, a former top NFL star who had a poor showing with the New England Patriots last season, is seeking to resurrect his career with the Miami Dolphins. He is currently working out with the team, has been signed to a deal and is expected to go through the preseason with the team.
