NBC Names New EVP for Alternative Programming Deadline
NBC announced a key executive move, naming a new EVP of alternative programming for NBC Entertainment, Deadline.com reports. The job is being filled by promoting Meredith Ahr.
Ahr, who has been VP of alternative programming and development since 2007, will continue to be in charge of development of alternative programming for NBC, and will add creative oversight of Universal TV’s reality producers, the story reports.
She reports to Paul Telegdy, NBC’s president of alternative and late-night programming.
Said Telegdy: “Meredith couples exacting creative standards with partnership and collaborative skills in a way which pushes the department and the producers we are in business with."
Ahr's most recent success was the development of "The Voice." She's currently working on a dating show called "Ready for Love," which Eva Longoria is executive producing, and on "Stars Earn Stripes" (Mark Burnett and Dick Wolf producing) and "White Elephant," a Howie Mandel show.
