One NBC reality show hit an all-time low in the ratings Monday night while another returned from a hiatus to a big drop in viewers, TVbytheNumbers.com reports, citing Nielsen overnights. For prime time as a whole, the network finished in fifth place in the key 18-49 demo, behind Spanish-language broadcaster Univision and behind an all-repeat lineup on CBS.

NBC’s “Fear Factor” returned after being off the air for five months, but managed only a 1.3 average rating in adults 18-49, 13% below its previous original episode back on Feb. 12. “American Ninja Warrior” beat that number with a 1.4 average, but that was down a hefty 26% from the previous original on June 24 — and represented the series’ all-time low.

Fox won the night by a narrow margin over ABC, with Fox’s Monday pairing of food shows “Hell’s Kitchen” and “MasterChef” continuing to show strength. Both shows averaged 2.4 ratings in viewers 18-49.

ABC’s two-hour “The Bachelorette” (2.5 average rating in 18-49, even with a week ago) came in as the top show of the night, but the network’s overall number for prime time was dragged down by the 10 p.m. broadcast of “The Glass House,” which managed only a 1.1.

For prime time overall, Fox averaged a 2.4 rating to win adults 18-49, ahead of ABC (2.0 average), Univision (1.3), CBS (1.2) and NBC (1.1). Total viewers went to ABC with 6.5 million, ahead of Fox (5.9 million), CBS (4.9 million), Univision (3.6 million) and NBC (3.4 million).
