Starting just a month before the U.S. presidential election, President Barack Obama and presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney will meet for three 90-minute debates, reports TheWrap.com.

The first debate, set for Oct. 3, will take place at the University of Denver in Colorado. It will consist of six segments of approximately 15 minutes each, each on a specific topic. The moderator will choose the topics, and they will be announced well before the debate date.

Debate two will be held Oct. 16 at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. The format will be a town meeting, with Gallup-selected undecided voters doing the questioning. The topics will include both foreign and domestic issues. Each candidate will be given two minutes to respond to each question, with an extra minute allocated to the moderator to spur conversation.

Debate number three will take place at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla., on Oct. 22. The format will be a repeat of the first debate, with topics restricted to foreign policy.

The presidential election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012.
