'Today' Falls to 'Good Morning America' TVNewser
Ratings results are in for Savannah Guthrie’s first week as co-host of “Today,” and the NBC morning show lost to ABC rival "Good Morning America," TVNewser.com reports.
"GMA" beat "Today" by more than 350,000 total viewers, marking a record for “GMA.” In the key news demo of adults 25-54, ABC was just 2,000 viewers behind NBC. ABC hasn't won a week in the demographic for the past 16 years, the story notes.
NBC News President Steve Capus dismissed a query about the show's ratings in a call with reporters, noting that the ratings are "a small piece of this entire portfolio; any number of our different properties are going to have good days and not so good days," according to the report.
