Yahoo is reportedly focusing on a short list of candidates to take over the struggling Internet company, with Hulu Chief Executive Jason Kilar among the names near the top of the list of CEO candidates, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Company Town blog.

Another leading contender for the job is Ross Levinsohn, who is serving as Yahoo’s interim CEO, the story notes.

Kilar, a former Amazon.com executive, has built Hulu into one of the top online video sites in the U.S., with almost 26 million viewers, the story notes.

Levinsohn joined Yahoo in 2010, and became interim CEO after the company’s former chief, Scott Thompson, stepped down in May amid questions about the accuracy of his resume.

Kilar and Levinsohn couldn’t be reached for comment, the story adds.
