While ABC, CBS and NBC were proudly showcasing drama series in the 10 p.m. time slot Tuesday night, a cable drama rode in and buried them all in the ratings, TVLine.com reports.

FX’s "Sons of Anarchy" delivered a 2.88 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, beating its broadcast rivals and outpacing all of its cable competition, the story notes. CBS’s "Vegas" drew a 2.0 rating in the demographic, while ABC’s "Private Practice" and NBC’s "Parenthood" each drew a 1.6 rating.

“Sons of Anarchy” was recently in the news with the death of Johnny Lewis, an actor who played Kip ‘Half Sack" Epps on the show. Lewis reportedly killed his landlady before falling to his death.
