Fox News has hired a familiar TV personality as a contributor for its top-rated program "The O’Reilly Factor," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Comedian Adam Carolla, whose politics tend to be conservative and libertarian, will appear weekly on the show in a role described as similar to that of Dennis Miller, who also appears weekly on the show to comment on social and political issues, the story says.

Carolla’s first appearance will be Monday — and he is likely to appear each Monday — while Miller is scheduled for Wednesdays.

He is also likely to appear on other Fox News programs, the piece adds. Carolla has competed in reality TV shows such as "Celebrity Apprentice" and also hosts the most popular podcast in the U.S.
