The hit MTV drama "Teen Wolf" is losing one of the show’s co-stars, E! Online reports. Failed contract negotiations are blamed for the departure of Colton Haynes, who played lacrosse champ Jackson Whittemore, the story reports.

Haynes was offered a commitment of appearing in 12 of the third season’s 24 episodes, but he didn’t want to commit to a limited role, the story notes. Haynes was also said to be up for a role in a new pilot.

An MTV representative denied the report, saying, "Absolutely no truth that Colton is being pushed out or that he, or any cast member, is being replaced. We love Colton and look forward to his returning with the entire cast for Season three of ‘Teen Wolf.’"
