NBC has placed a comedy series on hiatus for three months, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed. The series is the modestly rated comedy "Up All Night," which will be converted to a multicamera format taped in front of a live audience, the piece reports.

The sophomore show will take a break after production of the 11th episode, which wraps next week, and will shut down to convert the program into a format similar to that of CBS’s "The Big Bang Theory," the piece notes. “Up All Night” also received an order for three additional episodes.

Production will start again in February with five multi-camera episodes, with the show expected to go back on air by April or May after going off the air in December. The total number of episodes has been boosted from 13 to 16.

There’s no word whether "Community," whose new season was delayed earlier this month, might take over the time slot during the hiatus.

The program stars Christina Applegate, Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph and airs Thursdays at 8:30 p.m.
