Actress Lisa Whelchel, who’s currently competing on CBS’s "Survivor," has the West Nile virus, reports KHOU-TV in Houston. Whelchel is best known as Blair on NBC’s 1980s sitcom "The Facts of Life."

The actress reported the news herself on Facebook and Twitter, saying that after getting the diagnosis, she is "fine, just tired." She expects it to take about a year to fully recover from the disease.

Whelchel, 49, did not say whether she got the virus while taping "Survivor" in the Philippines.
