High-concept period drama pilots from the producers of "Breaking Bad" and "Nikita" have been ordered by AMC, reports EW.com’s Inside TV.

"Halt & Catch Fire" is set during the 1980s PC boom in Texas’ "Silicon Prairie." Characters will include an engineer, a prodigy and a visionary, the story says, with the drama to be executive produced by "Breaking Bad" producers Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein. It’s created by Chris Cantwell and Chris Rodgers.

“Turn,” set in the Revolutionary War, is based on the book "Washington’s Spies," by Alexander Rose. It’s executive produced by "Bones" executive producer Barry Josephson and written by showrunner Craig Silverstein of "Nikita," the piece adds.
