Chevy Chase Leaving 'Community' After a Turbulent Tenure on the NBC Comedy EW
In what's described as a mutual agreement, actor Chevy Chase is leaving the NBC comedy "Community," reports EW.com's Inside TV.
"It’s not exactly shocking news, as Chase has endured a rocky relationship with the series that he does not always speak warmly about," the piece notes.
As previously reported, Chase has aired gripes about the show -- saying he's "not crazy" about his character -- and getting into a feud with the show's creator, Dan Harmon.
Despite his departure, Chase will appear in all but two of the show's fourth-season episodes, with the season set to premiere Feb. 7. Chase, who plays the bigoted and wealthy Pierce Hawthorne, will appear in the season finale, which has already been taped, according to the piece.
