The future of TNT’s reboot of "Dallas" appears to be facing some uncertainty following the death of Larry Hagman, the actor who reprised his role as Texas oil tycoon J.R. Ewing, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker.

Hagman, 81, died after battling cancer for the past year, as previously reported.

Hagman had finished taping several new episodes and will appear in the show’s second season, which is slated to return Jan. 28, although it’s not clear how the production will handle his character’s departure from the show, the Times points out.

It’s believed that the show’s writers and producers are crafting a sendoff for the character, but it’s possible the show might schedule a production hiatus to rework its scripts, notes Deadline.com. With 15 episodes scheduled for season two the situation on the production is fluid, although Hagman reportedly taped six episodes for the second season, the piece adds.
