‘Love Boat’ Writer and Producer Henry Colman Dies at 89

"The Love Boat" writer and producer Henry Colman, who also worked on other iconic TV shows such as "The Odd Couple" and "Green Acres," has died, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He was 89.

Colman started in live television, working on programs such as "Kraft Television Theatre," and then moved to Los Angeles in 1961 and worked as an associate producer on the dramas "Dr. Kildare" and "Peyton Place."

CBS Television tapped him as an executive producer in the 1960s, and he supervised shows such as "Green Acres" and "Hawaii Five-0." He moved to Paramount Studios in 1970, working as vice president of television programs and overseeing shows including "The Odd Couple." He moved to a similar role at Screen Gems two years later.

Colman worked as a producer on "Love Boat" for its first seven seasons, and wrote all or part of about 12 episodes.
