NBC News Program Hires Former CBS and CNN Anchor NY Times

NBC News confirmed that it has hired a former CBS and CNN anchor, reports The New York Times' Media Decoder. Joining NBC's "Weekend Today" will be Erica Hill, the piece reports.

Hill will co-host the Saturday and Sunday program with Lester Holt, while Jenna Wolfe, who has co-hosted the Sunday program for several years, will shift to become the news anchor on Saturdays and Sundays, the story notes.

Hill was recently a co-host of "CBS This Morning" before she was suddenly replaced by Norah O'Donnell after Hill came back from a vacation in July.

Hill’s hiring fills out the main cast of “Weekend Today,” which also recently added Dylan Dreyer as weather anchor. Hill will also be a national correspondent for NBC News, with her reports to be included in “Today,” “NBC Nightly News” and other programs.
