What's the Biggest TV Story This Season? (Hint: It's About One of the Networks) MediaLife
The biggest story of this television season, according to readers of MediaLife responding to a survey by the publication, is the improbable turnaround of NBC, with the network favored to win the November sweeps and holding the top spot in the ratings among adults 18-49.
When the publication asked its readers to name the biggest TV developments this fall, almost half (47.1%) responded that it was NBC's turnaround, the story notes.
DVR viewership was a distant second, with 30.9%, while about 15% cited the biggest story as the overall declining ratings for networks. About 7% said the big story was the fall's lack of new hit shows, the piece adds.
Readers singled out NBC as the network most likely to win the sweeps with viewers 18-49, and named the network's drama "Revolution” as the biggest hit of the season.
But it wasn’t all good news for NBC. Asked what the fall's biggest bomb has been, the clear winner was NBC's canceled "Animal Practice." CBS’s "Made in Jersey," also canceled, finished in second place, while ABC's "666 Park Avenue" came in third.
