Al Gore will sit down for his first television interviews since selling his cable network Current TV to Al Jazeera, reports the New York Post.
Gore will appear Tuesday on NBC’s "Today" show and CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman.” The following day, he will appear on Comedy Central’s "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart."
He’s promoting a new book called "The Future: Six Drivers of Global Change," which the story says "trashes TV news." Staffers at Current TV were reportedly upset that Gore sold the network, and also that he didn’t appear before his employees to talk about the sale, the story says.
“Al Jazeera, which is owned by the government of oil-rich Qatar and is widely regarded as anti-American, bought Current last month for a reported $500 million,” the story reports. “Gore has so far refused to publicly defend the sale — which, according to some reports, left him richer than GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney — to a new owner that made its money selling fossil fuels.”
Mr. Gore,
I am so very proud of this new show and TV Week.
I have a great idea for a diverse talk show and I will be willing and able to do it.
