CNN, which is readying a revamped morning show to challenge NBC’s “Today” show and ABC’s “Good Morning America,” has brought Chris Cuomo aboard from ABC News, the New York Post’s Page Six reports.

Cuomo, ABC News’ chief legal correspondent and co-host of “20/20” with Elizabeth Vargas, is the brother of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Chris Cuomo will host the new CNN show with Erin Burnett, the piece reports.

New CNN chief Jeff Zucker has had his eye on Cuomo for a while, as we reported a month ago. CNN also snared ABC News’ senior White House correspondent, Jake Tapper, as previously reported.

Zucker has been “looking for an anchor he can basically make the centerpiece of the network,” the story reports.

“Zucker also has his eye on former ‘Today’ co-host Ann Curry, who is still tied to an NBC contract but has been stopped from doing live interviews,” the story adds. “We also hear Zucker has been scouting top print and digital reporters in Los Angeles to beef up CNN’s Hollywood reporting.”

But a separate report on TMZ.com says Zucker is not interested in hiring Curry for a prime-time anchor job at CNN.

“Well-connected network sources tell us … reports that Zucker is courting Curry to be the next CNN star couldn’t be further from the truth,” TMZ reports. “Fact is, Zucker doesn’t believe Curry is the answer to CNN’s problems and is continuing the search elsewhere.”

One source told the website: "Ann has been sainted because of what happened to her [on ‘Today’]. The fact is … she definitely can’t carry a prime-time show."

TMZ adds: “We’re told it’s possible Curry could come over to CNN to be something like a foreign correspondent, but it’s ‘highly unlikely,’ because she’s making around $10 mil at NBC and no way no how will Zucker pay anywhere near that.”
