Leslie Frankenheimer, an Emmy winner as a set decorator and the wife of prominent entertainment attorney John Frankenheimer, has died, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She was 64.

Frankenheimer shared Emmys for her design work on TV shows including ABC’s "Max Headroom" and HBO’s "Carnivale." She died Jan. 22 after a long battle with leukemia, the piece adds.

Most recently she worked on the Fox comedy "Ben and Kate," which was pulled this month from the network’s schedule. Her other work included the shows "The Closer" and "Kitchen Confidential."

In a 2007 interview with the Set Designers Society of America, she explained how she developed her interest in set design. Her grandfather, Neil S. McCarthy, was an entertainment attorney, and as a girl she would sometimes be taken to Paramount.

"The sets were magnificent — everything in place and so character driven. I remember how fascinating it was to see these rich rooms held up by unfinished wood and 2x4s! I was very young, but I knew these people were creating magic, and I wanted to be a part of it," she said, according to the story.
