Weigel Broadcasting Co. announced it has reached an agreement with Nielsen that will bring national audience measurement to the Me-TV Network, starting this spring.

“The ratings for the Me-TV Network that Nielsen shared with us were above our expectations and certainly grabbed our attention,” said Neal Sabin, president of Content and Networks for Weigel Broadcasting Co. “Now that we are subscribers, we can take our impressive story to advertisers and their agencies. We will now have the credibility of Nielsen’s national measurement service just like the major broadcast and cable networks.”

Weigel noted that distribution has grown rapidly since Me-TV’s launch in December 2010, and that it now meets Nielsen’s requirements for reporting as a national TV network. “Currently, the Me-TV Network serves 141 affiliates, clears 87% of the country and can be found in 28 of the top 30 markets in the U.S.,” the company reported.

Said John Hendricks, EVP of Sales for Weigel Broadcasting Co.: “Based on the results the Me-TV Network has delivered for advertisers, we knew that viewers were finding us and staying with us. But now that our sales team can offer our clients Nielsen national ratings, it will provide validation to national advertisers and agencies that Me-TV delivers and is an exciting new option for their TV campaigns.”

Me-TV’s programming includes vintage TV series such as “M*A*S*H,” “The Brady Bunch,” “The Beverly Hillbillies,” “The Dick Van Dyke Show” and “Gunsmoke.”
