Showtime plans to use "Homeland" and "Dexter" to help give a push to two new programs, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker.

"Dexter" will return June 30, earlier than usual, as a lead-in to "Ray Donovan," a drama featuring actor Liev Schreiber, who will star as a fixer for the wealthy.

"Homeland" will return Sept. 29 and serve as a lead-in for "Masters of Sex," a drama about Masters and Johnson, researchers into the science of human sexuality, the piece notes.

"Our plan is to harness the strength of these two shows to launch the next generation of new dramas on Showtime," Showtime Entertainment President David Nevins said.
