Tattoo and All? 'Law & Order: SVU' to Feature Mike Tyson as Murderer in TV Acting Debut Deadline
We’re resisting the temptation to call it typecasting, but "Law & Order: SVU" will feature former boxer Mike Tyson in his major television acting debut, reports Deadline.com.
Tyson will play Reggie Rhodes, a murderer on death row whose case draws Benson, played by Mariska Hargitay, and defense attorney Bayard Ellis, played by Andre Braugher.
The episode will also feature Ed Asner, the piece notes.
Tyson, who has done some hard time himself -- serving three years on a rape conviction in the 1990s -- has appeared in "The Hangover" franchise and played himself in a couple of TV comedies, but this is the first major acting job for Tyson, the story notes.
The story doesn’t mention Tyson’s unusual facial tattoo.
