Actor Erik Estrada, still closely identified with his role as a motorcycle-riding California Highway Patrolman in the 1970s and early 1980s NBC series “CHiPs,” will be back on two wheels for a new Syfy original movie.

The cable channel announced that “Chupacabra vs. the Alamo” will premiere March 23 (9 p.m. ET/PT). “When Chupacabras attack the San Antonio region, DEA Agent Carlos (Estrada) teams with a band of outlaw gangsters to battle a horde of the blood-sucking creatures — culminating in a final bloody confrontation at the Alamo. Julia Benson (‘Stargate Universe’) also stars in this production from ARO Entertainment,” the channel announced.

Syfy is rolling out a couple of new TV movies in March, starting with “Flying Monkeys,” which bows March 9 (9 p.m. ET/PT). The channel describes it like this: “A businessman, Vince Ventresca (Dollhouse), buys his daughter (an aspiring veterinarian) a pet monkey, which is actually a shapeshifter that turns into a deadly creature at night and spawns killer clones – we’re not in Kansas anymore!”
