'How I Met Your Mother' Star Says a Mentally Unstable Man Has Threatened to Kill Her TMZ
One of the stars of the hit CBS sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" has taken out a restraining order against a man she claims is mentally unstable and has threatened to kill her, TMZ.com reports.
Alyson Hannigan filed a request for a restraining order in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging John Hobbs had threatened her online, the piece reports. She alleges that Hobbs suggested he would rape her, posting a message that read, "Lets see How can I get myself in troble today [sic]. If I go with what I've been acussed of Most of my Life, I suppose I should start with being a rapist, so any nice girls out there want to get raped [sic]?"
Hannigan also received protection for her husband and two children, and a hearing scheduled for March 6 will determine whether to make the restraining order permanent.
Hannigan, who also starred in “American Pie,” says Hobbs was recently discharged from a mental hospital.
