'SNL' Skit Sparks Angry Response From Government of Thailand NY Post
A "Saturday Night Live" skit has angered Thailand, with the Thai culture minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs demanding that the clip be removed from YouTube, reports the New York Post's Page Six.
The skit is about creepy men learning to speak Thai through Rosetta Stone as they prepare for a sex tourism trip. They learn phrases such as "How much" and "Is that for the whole night," the story says.
“The government will also inform the U.S. Embassy that the commercial spoof is tarnishing Thailand’s image, and will ask the embassy to explain the situation to the producer of ‘Saturday Night Live,’” said Thai Culture Minister Sonthaya Khunploem.
A representative for "SNL" had no comment.
