The pilot for CBS’s update of "Beverly Hills Cop" has cast an actor from NBC’s "The Office,’ according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed. David Denman will play a detective — the Judge Reinhold role from the movie — in the potential series, the story reports.

Denman, who recurs as Roy Anderson on "The Office," will play Brad Fullmer, a strong and loyal detective, the story says. He’s joining Kevin Pollak, Brandon T. Jackson and Eddie Murphy in the pilot, which is described as a continuation of the movie franchise.

Murphy will reprise his role as Axel Foley, although the show focuses on his son Aaron, played by Jackson.
