Veteran of 'Homicide: Life on the Street' Joins Fox Comedy Project Opposite 'SNL' Alum Deadline
A veteran actor known for “Homicide: Life on the Street” and a number of other television and film roles has joined a high-profile comedy project at Fox.
Deadline.com reports that Andre Braugher, who recently appeared in TNT’s “Men of a Certain Age,” will be a part of Fox's untitled Mike Schur/Dan Goor comedy pilot, where he will co-star opposite “Saturday Night Live” alum Andy Samberg.
Braugher starred recently in ABC’s military drama series "Last Resort," which wasn’t renewed after its initial 13-episode run. He has also played a recurring role on “Law & Order: SVU.”
The new Fox comedy is about a diverse group of detectives who work at the very edge of New York City. Braugher will play Capt. Holt, a 30-year veteran of the police department who isn't going to allow anyone -- especially Jake, played by Samberg -- to screw up his career, the piece says.
