‘X Factor’ Reportedly Dumping One of Its Hosts

One of the two co-hosts of the Fox singing competition “The X Factor” has reportedly been asked to leave the show. The New York Post cites an inside source at the show saying the program is giving the boot to Khloe Kardashian, but will be keeping Mario Lopez.

Kardashian, 28, took on the role after having no TV hosting experience, and has at times appeared to be nervous on camera, the piece notes.

Said Marki Costello, an L.A.-based expert on TV hosting who has coached on "The Voice" for judge CeeLo Green: "I am sure there was a big percentage of Khloe’s fans who followed her to ‘X Factor.’ But at the end of the day, when she doesn’t know what she is doing, are you helping your show or hurting it? It was really hard for me to watch Mario with her. It made me, as a viewer, almost uncomfortable.”

Kardashian’s exit would be the latest high-profile exit from the show, with judge Britney Spears leaving last month, the story notes. Judge L.A. Reid left the show in December, and judge Cheryl Cole was fired last year.
