R&B singer and reality TV star Bobby Brown was released from jail after serving just nine hours of his 55-day sentence, TMZ.com reports. He was jailed on his third DUI, the story notes.

“Brown checked into L.A. County Jail at 9:58 AM Wednesday,” the piece reports. “He was released at 6:58 PM. Interesting … an L.A. County Sheriff’s spokesperson said just days ago Brown would serve 9 days … but the jails are bursting at the seams and this is what happens … kind of a joke, don’t you think?”

Brown, who is the ex-husband of the late Whitney Houston, starred along with Houston in the Bravo reality series “Being Bobby Brown.” He was arrested in October after reportedly being seen driving erratically in Los Angeles, and pleaded no contest to driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license.

The arrest was his second DUI in seven months, the piece notes. He is on a four-year probation and has been ordered to attend alcohol eduction classes.

  1. I don’t intend to commit any crimes…
..but if I do I know where to do them.
Did they literally slap him on the wrist before releasing him?
