CBS and NBC both suffered an indignity in the ratings for Monday night. Based on Nielsen overnights, both broadcast networks saw shows sink to season lows in the key 18-49 demo.

TVbytheNumbers.com reports that CBS’s “Rules of Engagement” dipped to a season-low 2.0 average rating in viewers 18-49, losing two-tenths of a ratings point from a week ago. NBC’s two-hour “The Biggest Loser,” meanwhile, lost three-tenths to come in with a season-low 1.9.

CBS does have an explanation, as it didn’t provide much support for "Rules." The network filled out the rest of its prime-time lineup with repeat programming and wound up in fourth place for the night.

With all fresh programs, meanwhile, NBC — which has been so far down this season that it’s starting to look like up — clawed its way to third overall behind runaway leader ABC and second-place Fox.

ABC’s two-hour season finale of “The Bachelor” performed well, climbing a half-point from the previous original to a 3.3 average rating in 18-49 — four-tenths better than last year’s finale. The wrap-up show “After the Final Rose” did even better, delivering a 3.8, up a half-point from last year’s installment.

Fox aired a repeat of “Bones” (1.2 in 18-49) along with a fresh episode of “The Following,” which lost two-tenths from last week to settle for a 2.6.

NBC saw its 10 p.m. show “Deception” tick up one-tenth from last week to a 1.2 in the 18-49 demo.

For the night, ABC was way ahead of the pack in viewers 18-49 with a 3.5 average rating, followed by Fox (1.9 average), NBC (1.7) and CBS (1.6). ABC also easily won total viewers with 10.3 million, followed by Fox (6.4 million), CBS (6.4 million) and NBC (4.8 million).
