CNN Adds Three New Correspondents TVWeek

CNN has announced the addition of three new correspondents to its on-air lineup. Moving from Washington, D.C., station WJLA-TV is Pamela Brown, who joins the cable network as a correspondent in New York for the new morning program to be co-anchored by Chris Cuomo.

Also joining the network are George Howell, who will report from Chicago, and Alina Machado, who will be based in Atlanta and will report for CNN, CNN en Espanol and CNN Latino, the network announced Monday.

Howell has contributed to CNN for the past year, reporting on the death of Trayvon Martin in Florida, while Machado joins from ABC affiliate WSB-TV in Atlanta.

Commenting on the hiring of Brown, Ken Jautz, executive vice president of CNN/U.S., said: “Pam is an outstanding reporter who made her mark in Washington, D.C., with exceptional coverage of domestic breaking news and enterprise reporting. The passion in her work is evident and we are so happy to have her join the CNN team.”

Tony Maddox, executive vice president and managing director of CNN International, added: “George and Alina are multi-talented, and their passion for getting to the crux of the story comes through in their award-winning journalism.”
