One of the stars of the Fox drama "House" will play the lead in a new ABC drama. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that ABC’s pilot "The Returned" cast Omar Epps to star, following up on his role as Dr. Eric Foreman in "House."

The project, based on a novel by Jason Mott and from Aaron Zelman of "Criminal Minds,’ asks what happens if people who are dead and buried suddenly reappear, the story says.

Epps will star as U.S. Immigration and Customs agent Martin Bellamy, who gets wrapped up in the case of a boy who pops up in the middle of rural China, the story says. The boy is played by newcomer Landon Gimenez.

Also in the cast, playing the boy’s father, is Kurtwood Smith of “That ‘70s Show.”
